What is it like to start a business from scratch? I found it to be intensely creative and stimulating — so rewarding that I’ve done it more than once.

I founded and started running Oisix Inc. together with friends in 2000. Back then most people around us would tell us how “impossible” it was for our vision to distribute natural & organic food online to succeed.

Ten years later, Oisix now is one of the biggest online food retailers in Japan, trading groceries worth more than 1.2 billion Yen a week. The company’s main site “Oisix.com” alone sees over 1 million unique visitors each month. Against all pessimism around us, we succeeded in creating a new need – a new market.

Gotanda Denshi Co.,ltd (formerly Oisix EC Solutions Ltd.) was founded based on our know-how gained from all ups and downs in our more than ten year long online sales experience, offering EC Consulting Services to businesses in the industry.


In looking at Gotanda Denshi’s history, I am struck by the story of constant change, of companies being acquired and sold, of brands being created, of a young dynamic industry being consolidated. Indeed, change seems to have been the one constant since Gotanda Denshi’s foundation.

Despite one of the highest adoption rates of PC owners, broadband Internet connections and mobile phones with Internet access worldwide, it is a sad fact that the overall level of Japanese internet businesses is rather low on international scales.

Our vision now is to become one of Japans innovation leaders; setting new industry standards worldwide for Internet business related companies. We are now especially focusing on the innovation and solution supply for service enhancement of industry leaders in apparel, beauty products, fashion, department stores and many other parts of the business world.

We do not have to become the top of the world to realize our goal. What we really want is to support Japanese businesses striving to grow worldwide with our innovative and unique ideas.
